The purpose of the excursion

on the 20th of August, half of year 8 went on an excursion out to homebush wetlands, the idea was to give us an understanding of the importance of the wet lands environment and it's in habitors.
History of the wetlands.
the production of the wetlands began in the 1980's and was officially opened on 1st of january 1987 which has now attracted over millions of visitors with in it's 25 years of operation making it Sydney Olympic Park's number 1 most visited park area. once all the facilities in Sydney Olympic Park were made, it was large enough to be considered a suburb which it is today. the wetlands is also home to the largest stand of mangroves in Sydney and is home to water birds who have come as far as Japan and Siberia.
